All of them letters are rendered out and showing no signs of problems in both 1920 by 1080 and 1080 by 1080 just need a title bold on them to be submitted.

On this day is friends and final touches for four of the letters but still having trouble with the letter n as for what I want to do for it I could not do within after effects but as I did not have cinema 4D working at the time I have to wait until I do. But renders for the other three are going well and almost finished just few final touches and moving onto fixing to the final stages so it can be rendered and put together for submission

The clients so I work and decided they that they are happy with our work and eagerly await final product but did have a few comments on the distribution of the product such as they did not have a Instagram account set up yet even that we had made Instagram models of the alphabet for them including hashtags as well.

Borough brand colour

Royal Borough of Greenwich Red: Pantone 187c

class note:

  • One of the ladies mentioned the big screen outside Woolwich Arsenal (General Gordon Square)
  • They also mentioned putting one up in Thamesmead.
  • Other digital big screens? E.g. near the O2, bill boards etc  (dimensions)
  • Social media sites
  • Each group can pick where their work can go, that way we are all distinctive  i.e Aliya’s group can do a 6x6 format for instagram stories, Or victor’s group can do a 1920x1080 for the big screen outside Woolwich Arsenal.

           Ideas
  • People in their natural state, tracking
  • Letters resembling the action
  • Live footage of “people of Greenwich”
  • 2D animation: individual letter comes together to form the Greenwich logo (or a main visual of Greenwich)
  • Letters to represent the changes, improvements and developments planned in the borough. Shown as individual letters and at the end are shown as all 26 letters (grid)? Which can also double up as a poster so the letters have some context and provide an informative message about what’s happening in the borough
  • Connecting letters to form one word: Mix media
  • 2D animated letters, zooms out to show all of the clips together on a 3D board, hands are seen in the shot (live action?) turning over the board revealing the borough of greenwich logo
  • A-Z of culture
  • Headers for updates
  • Word or letter?

Audience
  • Younger generation
  • People who do not speak english as a first language (no longer have the budget for printing information in different languages)

Locations
Loving where you live (pride of being the centre of diversity and building bridges) Pushing towards Plumstead, Woolwich and underground areas of Greenwich.

  • Thamesmead struggles with identity (the waterway is not part of the borough)
  • Abbey Wood has strong connections with filming and media

  • Charlton recently got an update for the high street
  • Charlton Riverside
  • Eltham got a new cinema
  • Arsenal Crossrail development
  • General Gordon square is a must visit
  • Woolwich Arsenal

          Architecture
? (do we want pictures here)

Greener Greenwich

Industry Involvement

  • Creative District (cheap studio spaces throughout Woolwich)
  • Plans for a creative district in the peninsula as well
  • They said that a lot of goods are transported down the river via boats for things like building, very useful - eco friendly

Our goals

  • Bring other areas of the borough up to the same standard as Greenwich
  • Encourage people to connect with their community more

What issues is the borough facing

  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Currently promoting - launched a bid to be the borough of culture and communities
  • Littering, fly tipping
  • Budget cuts
  • Lack of civic pride
  • Disconnected cultures

[Tim’s Notes]
Emphasise culture
Be part of something
Civic pride-love your community
The vision is ‘people will love and connect with the borough’
‘Greenwich is a great place to live’
Big push on the London borough of culture bid. It would bring a lot of much
needed money into the borough
Collage is a good word.
Rediscover the hidden, reconnect.
Old and new

Some outlying communities (eg.woolwich, Thamesmead, etc) are detached
Difficult to reach the younger 16-25 and the older 65+ audience.
Lots of non english speakers-visuals that engage with different cultures.
We have to be representative of all the people/communities in the borough
Look at Woolwich creative district initiative, General Gordon square if you
haven’t already, look at Thamesmead, abbey wood, Charlton etc explore the
whole borough.
Greenwich has 8 miles of waterfront, it is intrinsically linked with the river,
History and currently (industry) also Charlton riverside development.
Greenwich is a borough with inequalities- all should have access, all should
enjoy. It’s a series of mini boroughs currently.
How can you build bridges and connect people.
Push on recycling
Green is a big thing, protect and promote green spaces
Think about uses-social media and beyond- use in
spaces/events/schools/libraries etc
What is the purpose of the alphabet and how can it be best used .
What could be used in and around their bid on 1st december.
Pantone 187C is a key colour for RBG. Think about how this could be integrated within your designs.]

my notes:
I should try to use Greenwich has 8 miles of waterfront in my any for my letters.
Must incorporate the requested colour from Greenwich Council representatives.

day twelve

In this day we discussed and completed the specifications of our alphabet and how they would come together it was a long and tedious process that involves a lot of arguing a lot of compromises when everybody's for half

sound

Sound
N:
The sound for the N would be ocean sound waves and wind blowing tower the scene to get the viewer suck in to the scene with no choise but to watch.

C:
For the C I would use the voice of the community saying community in they language to put a voice behead every word. By doing this I will have shown that inclusion and acceptance of every nation on the Earth I'm showing at Greenwich is a progressive environment for everyone
S:
For the S i would use church choir music organ music as it is meant to be a stained glass window. I could you also use any copyright free music to do this letter as it does not matter what in particular I use.
X:
For this one I would use pirate music or nautical theme music something like the Pirates of the Caribbean music to encourage the feeling of being on a pirate ship looking for treasure so it fits with the maritime feel.

day eleven

The group disbanded and started to work individually until under the terms of the the brief was changed and the whole class joined together to make the whole alphabet which did not make sense as we had started working in a small group to make our alphabet but then at this time we had started planning out how we as a group wanted to push forward with our project but all plans and work fell apart at this time due to the change of the way the brief was being run. But we still kept our group rap to liaison as a representative for the five of us just so there wasn't too many voices making points at once so that we do not waste a lot of time on one issue.

Day ten

Post production Workshop

Who dis work we used Adobe Premiere Pro to make our clips of using motion trackers to add to a scene to adapted to our needs.

Tuesday, 7 November 2017

Day nine

Team meeting
Today we talked about how we will run the project and what format we want everybody to stick to which is was what was what is and what will be. We also talked about what type of design work each of us wanted to stick with and how we wanted to go about the project. We first came up with the idea that some of two of us will mainly focus on the path of Greenwich looking at Woolwich and West Greenwich mainly focusing on the queen's house and Woolwich Arsenal and trying to find a way they letters would fit in these specifications. We also decided that two of us will focus on the present accomplishments of Greenwich council and what they have done to encourage the community to grow. The last thing we decided was that one of us should look at the future developments of Greenwich and what upcoming events and projects are kneading of advertisement for Greenwich Council. We made it decision after reviewing our research and talking to the client about what we can do with this alphabet. Women mainly thinking about putting our work on big billboards and some social media sites but not all of them as we are still trying to find perfect fit for our alphabet we have not locked down a main idea for distribution for the alphabet.

formative assessment

Formative Assessment

N
National Pride
For the letter N I will make a 6 seconds long video displaying the Royal Barrow of Greenwich national pride by focusing on the history in the maritime era and how they were the cultural and strength of London in that era. The letter N will be three pillars organising to the shape of the letter N on each of the pillars you will see different symbols such as old warships, gun, old building that was around that period and more.
S
Sky’s the limit /space
For the letter s I won’t be able to leave making a 6 second for that will display the skyline you can see from the Royal Observatory and the stars at night and showing the importance of how the two make Greenwich beautiful and the important place to visit.
X
X Marks the Spot
For the letter x I will be making a 6 second Long video that will display the key landmarks inside the Royal Borough of Greenwich this will be a live action video with the letter x being displayed on top of the map lining up all the points that will turn Greenwich into a treasure map flowing there is lots of historical, technological and cultural Treasure to be found in Greenwich.
C
Culture
For the letter C I’ll make a 6 second typographic video of a one question questionnaire asking local residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich to describe the culture of Greenwich in one word then collectively combine all the words into the letter c this will be done as a 2D animation that then can be used as a gif.
